Seal Stole my Retainer!

Wednesday, August 1st 2007, Wake up time: 11:10am

I had cinnamon raison bread for breakfast. We had bought bikes with us, I borrowed one of Lyle's, and we took a bike ride to another beach that wasn't too far away. Once we got there, we immediately went for a swim. The water was great, but it was pretty big waves, so we were constantly swept onto the shore. We swam for about forty five minutes, and then rested for a bit. I began reading Omerta, the Mario Puzo book I'd bought.

We'd also taken buckets and spades with us, so Lyle, Claire and I began building a sandcastle. We made it pretty big and impressive. We even gave it windows and a moat! We then went swimming for a second time. At this point, I was wearing a retainer to straighten my teeth, I'd been wearing it about four months. I was hit pretty hard with a wave, and my retainer came out and was caught up by the wave! It wasn't too bad but I was meant to were it six months. We kept seeing a seal pop up, and the constant joke was that he'd taken it and was wearing it.

We got out to have lunch, which was cheese and corned beef sandwiches and some delicious cookies for desert! We then decided to head home and spend the rest of the afternoon in the cabin. Once we got back, we watched some television, which was just the American version of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' While watching it, we had some snacks of cheetos (which due to Wotsits, do not sell in the UK!) and some coke. We lazed around for the afternoon, tired out after the heavy swimming in the morning.

For dinner we had Salmon, bread and corn. We followed that up with a small game of kick ball...which works on the same basic rules as baseball but you kick a volleyball-sized ball instead of batting. Due to the lack of players, we gave up on it pretty quickly. I had really enjoyed playing Liverpool rummy and so I wanted to start a game. As there is seven rounds...it takes a long time to complete but we managed to get through the first three rounds before calling it a night and going to bed.

Thanks for listening.
