Boogie Boarding with Style!

Friday, August 3rd 2007, Wake up time: 10:25am

I woke up to a breakfast which was the same as yesterday. Which was? Yes ladies and gentlemen...coffee cake...well remembered. We got ready for the beach, we were heading to Marconi Beach this time around. As we'd woken up later than usual, we didn't make any lunch and said we'd buy some on the way. As we headed for the beach, we stopped off at Sam's Deli and I got a western sandwich which was basically roast beef and barbecue sauce. Bev also wanted to pick up some salsa, and I entertained people by making a song and dance about buying Paul Newman's salsa, because it's Paul Newman and he's amazing.

We arrived at the beach and began with the usual swim. We then followed that up with our delicious lunch and some brownies for desert. I then continued to read Omerta while listening to my mp3 player. Bev had bought a boogie board, so I practised swimming with it, vaguely attempting to look good while using it. After I failed at using the board, we got out to build a sandcastle.

Our sandcastle was one which we tried to make indestructible. However, this isn't actually possible, but we did very well! It was rather large and solid. I then attempted to use the boogie board again (rather more successfully than last time.) After swimming and boogie-boarding, we made a second castle but it was lost at sea!

We did a little sight seeing before coming home. We saw the first trans-Atlantic communication device! We then passed on through into Ceder swamp. It had a warning sign of ticks, which are small bugs that latch on to you. It was very buggy, but really lovely, natural area. We took a long walk through it, until we started complaining about tired legs and the heat! We finally headed home.

We had salsa and pasta for dinner with Dr.Pepper on the side. I served the Cherry Pie for desert and then we finished the evening by playing a random board game that we found in the cabin, which wasn't great....however, a thoroughly enjoyable day out!

Thanks for listening.
